DAILY REVIEW: A Pathwork Tool
Daily review is a spiritual practice and a way of communicating with your unconscious mind, and your divine self. It opens the lines of communication and strengthens your connection with your divine self; nurtures relationship with your guiding spirit.
Daily review also serves to strengthen your observer self. It helps to foster right relationship and constructive attitudes towards anything that lives in us that we dislike, despair of, or need to recognize and or want to change. Observing brings awareness and awareness is a powerful tool for change.
Daily review also helps to penetrate the mask (the false self) by not allowing you to avoid the “little” things during the day that might otherwise go unnoticed or that you might otherwise not want to face. Whatever it is, if it is noted and accepted before it can sink back into your unconscious, you not only prevent further repression and accumulation of disturbances, but you can learn honesty and humility about these aspects of your self you need to become very aware of.
Daily review is a practice of growing unification with your divine self. As your work proceeds, the nature of daily review changes. You will see different aspects of yourself revealed. Through daily self-observation, you will have an opportunity to notice the issues your deeper psyche brings to your attention at different times. The daily review is also a good yardstick to notice shifts and changes, your growth and occasional lapses into old patterns. Through daily review, you come to see your personal life rhythm and learn to interpret it. You attune to a vibrantly alive and real inner world that aims to bring you fulfillment on all levels. It leads to you knowing that you are God. It leads to the deep inner stillness, the deep quiet of being in communication with your divine self.
THE HOW TO:
At the end of the day take 10-15 minutes to sit in quietness. As your mind stills, send a request to your divine self, your guiding spirit, to help you review your day, and to see whatever you need to, regarding the day. Ask for specific insight into the occurrences of the day that will help inform you about what has manifested in this day, especially events, responses and reactions that affect the things that you want to create in your life.
Then let your whole day pass in front of your mind and in your memory. Think of everything that has happened. Be sure to notice both what went well, and what was disturbing, even in small ways; where was there flow and where were their obstructions or frustrations. What were your reactions in either a positive or negative direction?
You do not have to write down everything just certain keywords may be enough. Point form is fine.
On a day-to-day basis, your task is to just record your thoughts, feeling, reactions and what has happened, noting what stands out. In and of it self, this sharpens your ability to observe and stay conscious of what’s happening. Cumulatively, once you have collected a couple of weeks recordings, its wonderful material to clearly see reactions and patterns that help you more and more decipher the language of your unconscious. It also helps you see your patterns and what maybe you part, in what gets created in your life.
At the end of the time take a couple of minutes to read what’s there. Allow yourself to connect energetically with what has been brought to awareness. Thank your divine self, your guiding spirit and any other part of yourself that has shown up, for being with you, and helping you to create your life in a meaningful, constructive way.
